Why Now? - A Poem (Aviela Groder)

I never thought You’d take me here

I didn’t think I’d see it through

Honestly, I wanted to leave this place

But You’re calling me to something new

I’m standing here unsure of where to go

Wanting to take a step but is it really possible?

Why have You called me here now?

Just as I was going to turn the page 

Why am I being asked

When everyone else is capable?

What’s actually left for me?

Is it really worth my time?

Shouldn’t I pause for just a moment

To be sure that this is meant to be mine?

You put me on this path for a reason

You’re calling me to something great

Still, my heart is stubborn

Yet, you’re not telling me to wait

Why now of all time?

Why am I the one to do it?

What’s your perfect plan in all of this?

Could I even comprehend it? 

My heart just needs to be still

I need to stop doubting your ways

I know you guide my every step

And You keep watch for all my days

I don’t know why it’s happening now

Yet, deep in my heart this choice feels right

It’s time to take the leap of faith

So, I’ll just hold on tight
