Postured towards Purpose

What is my purpose? It’s a question many of us wrestle with, especially during our young adult years. We long to know where we're headed, what we're meant to do, and what God has planned for our lives. I know I've asked those questions countless times. I have wondered what the Lord had in store for me. What is His plan? What is He preparing me for? What will my future look like?

The truth is, I still don't know all the specifics. My purpose, in its entirety, has yet to be revealed. But through every season, the Lord has been faithful. He has planted passions in my heart, brought different gifts and talents to the surface, and opened doors I never could have opened on my own. He has guided me down unexpected roads, teaching me, stretching me, and shaping me along the way. Looking back, I can see that every opportunity, every challenge, and every season has served a purpose in preparing me for what lies ahead. Even though I don't have all the answers, I have peace about where I am right now.

I believe so much of this journey comes down to our heart posture. Are we patiently waiting on the Lord, trusting His timing, or are we trying to control the future ourselves? Are we willing and obedient to follow where He leads, even when the path feels uncertain? Or are we allowing fear of the unknown to keep us stuck?

The Lord has good things for His children. He promises to care for us, provide for us, and faithfully guide us. While we may not always know exactly what He has planned, we can rest in the assurance that He does. We can be confident not because we know the future, but because we know the One who holds it.

As believers, our ultimate purpose is not found in a career, a title, a relationship, or an achievement. Our greatest purpose is to know God and make Him known. Before we ever discover the details of our individual calling, we have already been given this beautiful mission. In every season, whether we are waiting, growing, serving, learning, or stepping into something new, we are invited to know God more intimately and share the hope and joy of the Gospel with those around us.

We are called to serve the Kingdom of God. While each of us has unique gifts, passions, and assignments, we were never meant to walk this journey alone. We are called to encourage others, point people toward Christ, and bring them along as we follow Him. Our lives become most meaningful when they are surrendered to His purposes rather than our own.

Maybe you're currently in a season of waiting. Maybe you're seeking direction, praying for clarity, or wondering when God will reveal the next step. Or perhaps He's already leading you down a path that is quietly preparing you for your purpose, even if you can't see the full picture yet.

Friend, trust that the Lord will make His plans clear in His perfect timing. He is never rushed, never late, and never uncertain. The God who created you knows exactly where He is leading you.

For now, live from a place of peace. Walk in joy. Be faithful with what He has placed in front of you today. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus and your heart surrendered to His leading as you continue your journey.

You are not forgotten. You are not overlooked. God is working in ways you may not yet see, and He is writing a story that is far greater than anything you could script for yourself. Trust Him with the process. He has something beautiful prepared for you, and ultimately, it will bring glory to His name.
