My Heart's Delight: Snow Days by Kim Latta

As I step out into the snow-covered landscape, I am met with a sense of stillness and peace that is hard to find in our busy lives. The snowflakes gently falling from the sky are like tiny messengers from above, reminding me to slow down, breathe deeply, and connect with Jesus.

Snow days are a gift from God, a time to reflect on my life, my relationships, and my priorities. As I gaze out at the snow-covered world, I am reminded of the beauty and wonder of creation. I am humbled by the realization that I am but a small part of a much larger story, one that is being written by a loving and merciful God.

Snow days are also a time to reconnect with loved ones, to share in the joy and wonder of the season. Whether it's sipping hot chocolate together, playing games, or simply enjoying each other's company, these moments are precious and fleeting. They remind me of the importance of nurturing my relationships and investing in the people who matter most in my life.

As I bask in the warmth and comfort of my home, I am reminded of those who serve others during the snowstorm. To all the first responders, medical staff, utility workers, and others who brave the elements to keep us safe, thank you. Your selflessness and dedication are a testament to the goodness and kindness that exists in our world.

As I look out at the snow-covered landscape, I am filled with a sense of peace and contentment. Snow days are a reminder that life is precious, fleeting, and full of wonder. May we cherish these moments, may we find peace in their stillness, and may we emerge from them feeling refreshed, renewed, and ready to face whatever challenges come our way.

A little bit about Kim...

I am a frequent visitor of the Athens post office, shipping care packages with love.I am a newly wed but abundantly happy to be married to Martin. I've worked as a full-time site admin at Meta for seven years. I enjoy traveling, reading, working outdoors, and spending time with family. Ruth’s story deeply resonates with me—as a young widow, I found hope in knowing God was still at work, even in seasons of loneliness and discouragement.
