“He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us. As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him. For he knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust.” – Psalm 103:10-14
THIS, THIS, THIS!!!
I know we all have our stereotypical this sin is greater than this sin type of attitude sometimes, especially when it comes to our own mistakes, but in reality that’s a big joke.
Just as we are all of equal importance and care in God’s eyes, our sins are just as equal.
So if God views us and our transgressions AGAINST HIM as equal why can’t we grasp that??
One thing that bothers me the most is seeing people out judging other peoples for a sin they have committed while they themselves are living is sin too. Their justification is almost always “well at least I’m not doing that!”
Let me just tell you this… God. Does. Not. Care.
When we reach God’s throne room on judgement day God isn’t gonna look at the difference between premarital sex and disobeying parents. All He sees is sin!
The difference comes into play with the grace He shows us.
God shows each and every one of us the same amount and level of grace and forgiveness, but what we do with that is key.
If I go around flaunting my sin and the fact that “God forgives me so it’s okay now” what are non-believers going to see???? That it’s totally okay to keep living life in sin???? That sin isn’t that big of a deal and God will just forget about it????
This is not okay!!
Non- and new believers need to see, hear, and read the same things wherever they go. They need to hear the same things from pastors, leaders, and mentors that they would read in the Bible. Non- and new believers need to see Christians follow the morals they are hearing from their pastors and reading in the Bible.
We have to speak and live the way Christ intended to help bring others into believing His word and truth.
When I see a fellow believer sinning, instead of judging them and condemning them for their mistakes, what do I do?
I pray.
“Bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.” – Colossians 3:13
When I find myself living in a life of sin, even if it may seem less or unequal to the sin of others, what do I do?
I pray.
“Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned” – Romans 5:12
When life throws me curve balls and I begin to find it harder and harder to believe that God cares and easier to fall into a life of sin, what do I do?
I pray.
“Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.” – Romans 12:12
Be hopeful, prayerful, and follow Christ in every action you take. Never let any one sin drag you down, ask God for forgiveness and use that.
Don’t turn around and continue to live your life in sin. Use God’s forgiveness as a second chance. Even though God gives limitless chances don’t abuse them. God will love you no matter what you do, but uses your life in the best possible way to show others Christ’s love. Life your life in a way that will make God say “well done, my good and faithful servant.”
Show non-believers what they’re missing out on because it truly is an amazing life.
Sin is sin is sin. Don’t live life in comparison. That’s the worst way to do it, and trust me I’d know. Love graciously, live gracefully (if possible haha), and laugh gratefully.
You’ll be glad you did!
I’m here if you need me, but stay constant in prayer.
