Trusting God Through Infertility
There are some seasons in life that are so silent, so raw, they barely leave you with words to pray. Infertility is one of those seasons. It’s the kind of pain that shows up in waves, sometimes as a dull ache in your heart, other times like a tidal wave that crashes over your whole day.
I didn’t think this would be part of my story. Like many women, I assumed that when the time came, pregnancy would be simple, beautiful, natural, even easy. But month after month, I watched hope rise and fall with every negative test, every ache, every tear. And in that silence, I started to feel forgotten.
But here’s what God began whispering to me in that quiet season: You are not forgotten. You are being formed.
Infertility isn’t just about an empty womb, it’s about the questions that swirl in your soul.
“Why me?”
“Did I do something wrong?”
“Where is God in this?”
In the middle of those questions, I was reminded of the women in scripture who faced this same sorrow. Sarah, Hannah, Elizabeth. Each one of them waited. Each one of them wrestled. And each one of them was seen by God, even when the world around them didn’t understand their pain.
What I’ve learned through this season is that God doesn’t waste our waiting. He meets us in it. He shapes us in it. He draws near, not because we are strong, but because we’re desperate for His presence.
And in this deeply personal kind of wilderness, I found a new kind of intimacy with Him. Not because He gave me what I wanted, but because He gave me himself. If you’re walking through this season, please know this, your grief is valid, your tears are sacred, and your story is not over.
Whether God brings life to your womb, or life to your story in a different way, you are not barren in His eyes. You are fruitful in faith, rich in resilience, and deeply, deeply loved! There is beauty still to come, even if it doesn’t look like you expected. And in this silent season, God is still speaking. You are not alone.
“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven…”
-Ecclesiastes 3:1 (ESV)
